About Our Products

What makes your sarees "vintage"?

All our sarees are authentic, pre-loved fabrics that we carefully source and hand-select here in Kashmir. These are real textiles with history and character - not new fabric made to look old. Each piece is professionally cleaned before we transform it into canopies, curtains, or other beautiful home decor.

Because they're vintage, small imperfections are natural and part of their charm. You might notice some loose threads, very minor stains, or missing beads - these aren't defects, they're signs of the saree's authentic story.
Will my item look exactly like the photo?

For custom saree canopies with wooden hanger sets: The photos shown are examples only. You'll receive a combination very similar to the example photos, or you can contact us to request a custom color combination that we'll hand-select for you.

For the round Saree canopies: We photograph the actual item or very close variations. However, since we work with vintage sarees and handmade items, colors may vary a bit depending on your screen settings and lighting.

For the patchwork products Vintage textiles have natural variations in tone, pattern density, and embellishment. We make these with patches of vintage Indian textiles  - that's what makes each piece special and unique to you. The photos shown are examples only

For all other products:

Each of our products are 100% handmade by our artisans, small imperfections and very slight variations are possible, after all we are human "only". Colors may vary a bit depending on your screen settings and lighting.

 

Are your products fully handmade?

Yes! Everything is handcrafted by our family and our trusted network of artisans here in Kashmir and across India. From hand-selecting vintage sarees, to hand-sewing canopies, to the intricate crewel embroidery on our curtains, to the hand felted, embroidered Namda rugs - every piece involves skilled hands and traditional techniques passed down through generations.

Can I customize my order?

Absolutely! Here's what we can customize:

  • Crewel embroidered curtains: Any size (contact us for dimensions not already listed)
  • Namda felt rugs: Fully customizable - size, design, and colors (contact us for a custom quote)
  • Saree canopies with wooden frames: Size, design, and color combinations

How long do custom orders take?

It depends on what you're ordering:

  • Embroidered curtains: 4-5 days (same timeline whether standard or custom size)
  • Custom saree canopies: 4-5 days (can take longer during busy seasons)
  • Custom Namda rugs: Varies by size and complexity
    • Small (2-3 ft): 2-3 weeks
    • Medium (5-6 ft): 3-4 weeks
    • Large sizes: 4-8 weeks
These are making times before shipping. Shipping time is additional (see shipping section below).
Will I see photos before you ship my custom order?

We don't automatically send preview photos, but you're absolutely welcome to request them! Just let us know when placing your order, and we'll send you photos for approval before shipping. We want you to love what you're getting.

Shipping & Delivery

Where do you ship from?

All orders ship from Kashmir, India.

Important: Because we ship internationally from India, customs duties, taxes, and import fees may apply depending on your country. These fees are the buyer's responsibility and are not included in our product prices.
How long does shipping take?

Delivery times vary by destination:

  • United States: 3-4 weeks
  • Europe: 2-3 weeks
  • Rest of the world: 3-5 weeks

These are estimates from the ship date. Processing time (how long it takes us to make/prepare your order) is separate and varies by product.

Want it faster? We offer express shipping (DHL, UPS, or FedEx depending on your location), at extra charge. Just contact us before ordering and we'll arrange it for you.
Do you provide tracking?

Yes! All orders include tracking via international post. You'll receive a tracking number once your order ships so you can follow its journey from Kashmir to your door.

Will I have to pay customs fees?

It depends on your country's regulations. Most countries charge import duties, taxes, or customs fees on international shipments - these are not included in our prices and are the buyer's responsibility.

Common examples:

  • United States: Customs regulations can change - please check current import duty rules for your state
  • European Union: VAT and duties typically apply on all shipments
  • United Kingdom: Duties may apply on orders over £135

We recommend checking your country's customs policies before ordering to avoid surprises. If you have questions, we're happy to help!

Care & Maintenance

How do I clean my saree canopy?

Spot clean only (or partial hand wash if needed). Because saree canopies are made from vintage fabric with embellishments, we recommend gentle spot cleaning for stains rather than full washing.

How do I care for embroidered curtains and crewel products?

Hand wash gently in cold water. All our crewel embroidery products (curtains, pillow covers, wall hangings) can be hand-washed. Lay flat to dry to preserve the embroidery work.

How do I clean Namda felt rugs?

Regular care: Vacuum regularly on low setting to remove dust and dirt.

Deep cleaning: Hand wash with cold water when needed. Lay flat to dry completely.

How should I clean patchwork products (Rajasthani floor pillows, wall hangings, etc.)?

Spot clean or dry clean only. These intricate patchwork pieces are best maintained with spot cleaning for small stains or professional dry cleaning for deeper cleaning.

Returns & Exchanges

What's your return policy?

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery if you're not completely satisfied with your purchase.

Return conditions:

  • Item must be unused and in original condition
  • Customer pays return shipping to Kashmir, India
  • Refund issued once item is received and inspected
  • Customized orders cannot be returned - however, if you're not happy with your custom piece, please contact us and we'll work with you to find a solution
Before returning: Please contact us first! We genuinely want you to love your purchase and will work with you to find a solution. Sometimes a simple exchange or adjustment can make all the difference.
What if my item arrives damaged?

We're so sorry if this happens! Please contact us immediately with photos of the damage. We'll work quickly to send you a replacement or issue a full refund - your choice.

Shipping damage is rare, but we stand behind every piece that leaves our hands in Kashmir.

What if I don't like the colors?

We understand that vintage textiles can look different in person than on screen, and color perception varies. If you receive your order and the colors aren't what you hoped for, please reach out to us within 30 days.

We're happy to work with you on an exchange or return. Your satisfaction matters to us - this is our family business, and we want you to have something you absolutely love.

Do you offer wholesale pricing?

Yes! We work with interior designers, boutiques, and retailers who want to carry our handcrafted Kashmir textiles.
