Crafted in the heart of mystic Kashmir, this piece carries the centuries-old legacy of traditional Mughal Crewel embroidery — an art form that has enchanted royalty and travelers for generations.

“Dream of Kashmir”

Kashmir’s needlework has long been celebrated across the world. Its artistry graces Pashmina shawls, silk and wool carpets, and exquisite home décor. Even the ancient Mughal kings of India and Persia adorned their palaces with these breathtaking creations, drawn to their depth, detail, and expressive floral motifs.

Each bedspread is entirely handmade in a small family-run workshop in Kashmir. Multiple artisans collaborate to complete a single piece, a process that takes 2–4 weeks depending on the design. The work is thoughtfully divided into:
• cutting and tailoring
• detailed hand embroidery
• hand-dyeing the wool threads with natural, plant-based dyes
• a special washing and finishing process to ensure colors stay vibrant for a lifetime

This particular design, “Doanz Dar”, is a refined and time-intensive style of Crewel embroidery. The stitches are exceptionally close-knit and compact, creating a rich, textured surface that feels almost sculpted. The result is a stunning heirloom textile that elevates any space with its bohemian elegance.
