made according to centuries old, traditional Mughal Crewel embroidery art, in mystique Kashmir, North India.

"Dream of Kashmir"

Each piece is unique and has been crafted with care and quality in a small Family-run-workshop in Kashmir. It takes more than one person to finish one of these blankets and usually (depends on the piece and type of needlework) 2-4 weeks. The work is devided into cutting and tailoring, needlework by the artisan, dying of the woolen thread with natural (vegetable) colors, and special washing-finishing so that the colors will last a lifetime.

This bedspread design is called "Doanz Dar" and is a special type of Crewel Design. It takes extra time and special care as the embroidery is very close knit /compact and the result is just amazing as you can see in the detailed pictures
